I was a professional musician in the 1960’s.  But I was only in my mid teens.  I was also a person who had a very hard time earning money.  I’ve subsequently spent virtually my whole life trying to get ahead financially, yet never quite achieving enough independence to enable a return to professional music.  Admittedly though, being a person with varied interests and motivations, I didn’t have what it takes to sustain a career in music anyway.

A few years ago however, I was able to set aside a couple thousand dollars for musical purposes.  What is presented here then, is my somewhat feeble attempt to produce an album, in spite of it being done with amateur equipment, and by myself, a now quite amateur musician.  If you find any of it to be of inspiration, then my goal has been achieved.

The sound quality is not too bad either.  I think that if this came out in the 1960’s, the sound quality would be spectacular.  Musical equipment and recording has evolved so dramatically over the decades.

As the album came together, it seemed to portray a sort of emotional journey, or a progression, beginning somewhat light-hearted, then plunging into some deep feelings which evolve through a labyrinth of story-like gyrations, finally reaching a natural resolution.  I’ve found it to be useful as accompaniment to an exercise routine, helping to mitigate the boredom factor.  Also, if you’re one of those who can listen to music while reading, it can produce some magical moments.  And it lends itself to various forms of meditation.

The fact that it was done on a rather inexpensive synthesizer shows perhaps that I may have some potentially viable musical talent.  I am however, somewhat shy of talent when it comes to composing lyrics, hence the album’s title.  Certainly though, instrumental music can still be good.

I don’t know if this, in its current form, would attract money.  But since I’m now in my mid seventies and retired, I don’t wish to be involved with all the complications of commerce.  I am, therefore, availing this album for free to anyone who wants it.  May it go forth and be a source of positive energy!
